Ingredients
  

Pesto Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves packed
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts toasted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper or to taste

Method
 

Make the Pesto
  1. In a food processor, combine the basil leaves, Parmesan cheese, pine nuts, and garlic. Pulse until finely chopped.
  2. With the processor running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Transfer the pesto to a jar or container and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Notes

Pesto can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. For longer storage, consider freezing in ice cube trays.
