Ingredients
  

Ribs
  • 2 pounds pork ribs baby back or spare ribs
Dry Rub
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat
Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce store-bought or homemade

Method
 

Prepare the Ribs
  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine all dry rub ingredients and mix well.
  4. Rub the mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.
Bake the Ribs
  1. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, bone side down.
  2. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.
Add Sauce and Finish
  1. Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top foil.
  2. Brush barbecue sauce generously over the ribs.
  3. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  4. Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the ribs with the dry rub overnight in the refrigerator.
