Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries can substitute with frozen
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional for added flavor
Topping
  • 1 box yellow cake mix dry mix only
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup water

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir gently to mix.
  3. Spread the blueberry mixture evenly in the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, mix the dry cake mix with melted butter and water until just combined.
  2. Pour the cake batter over the blueberry mixture in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  3. Do not stir; the cake will rise over the blueberries while baking.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  2. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
